Pari Passu is a restructuring research service for investors, bankers, and lawyers.
Our objective is to analyze the must-know situations and transactions shaping the restructuring and credit world. Every week, we publish a report covering one company that is undergoing, or has undergone, a restructuring (in court, out of court, or liquidation).
We analyze the company’s history and industry, drivers of distress and mitigation tactics, and then, of course, we will examine the restructuring process.
Pari Passu is led by me, Rx. I am a hedge fund analyst in New York. Previously, I was a private equity associate at a large-cap fund, and before that, I was a restructuring investment banking analyst, which is what inspired Pari Passu.
When I was a restructuring analyst, I realized there was a gap in the institutional-grade restructuring research market. Whereas some providers focus on surface-level transaction summaries only, others provide multiple, disjoint updates that are hard to follow.
This is the core insight behind Pari Passu: provide all-encompassing coverage of the most consequential restructuring transactions. Moreover, I sought to do this in a bottom-up manner that caters to a wide range of financial and legal professionals while maintaining the technical rigor that is typically gated by expensive corporate subscriptions.
To do this at scale, I have built a small team of analysts who facilitate the research process. Everything that we publish is the result of 50+ hours of research, analysis, and writing. I personally take direct pen on every single word that we publish.
